Fix Your Plate

“God Prepares tables, but HE does not fix the plates. We must still do the work.”

Ebony Stroder

I am grateful for the gift of community and the collective wisdom that I receive. One of my coaches posted the above-mentioned gem and it spoke to me.

It was just another reminder that God prepares tables and open doors, but it is our task to fix the plates and walk through the doors. It was a spark and reminder that belief in God is accompanied by actions. One of my favorite quotes is after we pray, we need to put legs on our prayers by taking actions that move us in the direction of what we prayed for.

God has set the table and a sign of our belief and trust

Is remembering that fixing our plate is up to us.

“Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, “Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup—where does that get you? Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense? " James 2:14-17

“…. let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and show it by our actions.” 1 John 3:18

And I will close with another gem from another one of my heroes, Fannie Lou Hamer. No need for anything else after her gem,. #FixYourPlate
